The issue is full of powerful insight and analysis including Predicting Cyber Attacks: Detecting patters of malicious activities isn’t easy, which is a phenomenal piece by Chris Ahlberg, CEO and co-founder of Recorded Future, Inc., an In-Q-Tel funded venture.

Another great read is Fearing NORO: Why it’s bad for risk analysis, which was a collaborative effort written by the lead Vulnerability Assessment Team at Argonne National Laboratory, United States Department of Energy.

The cover piece for this edition of Homeland Security Today titled Emergency Preparedness: When the crossroads of Health Care and Public Health Never Meet, was written by our Public Health Editor, Dr. Peter Marghella. Marghella, served in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and was the Director of New York State Office of Emergency Management, brings to bear his impressive perspective and decades of experience as a real world practitioner in the field.

Other notable standout features include: Cautionary Tales: FEMA’s sharing of collective knowledge, Identity Crisis: Closing access security holes, and Kenyan Fault Lines: A rift is exploited by Al Shabaab.

Screen Shot 2014-07-15 at 6.11.43 PMLast but not least, my piece: A Disciplined Approach to Success: How one company landed EAGLE II task order contracts, highlights some best practices to winning highly sought-after Department of Homeland Security Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE II) task orders. Hopefully, you will find it to be instructive when formulating winning contracting bid strategies.
